So if you're into brunch (or we can just call it breakfast to be fair) and you're in or near the Wakefield area, then make sure you check out the following for some bloody excellent food!
B L A K E S C O F F E E & C O // If you only visit one café out of these three, make it Blakes Coffee & Co. It's inside Spring Green Nurseries garden centre, but it's a lot more than your stereotypical garden centre café. The pancake/waffle stacks are these absolutely huge creations and I would highly recommend them, but if you're more of a savoury person all your usual breakfast offerings are on the menu too. The only thing they don't really cater for is vegans! The decor is an Instagrammers dream, although it's not a backdrop I've made use of as I've always been far too focussed on the food! It's walk ins only and can get quite busy as it's popular, but they have a handy system where you pop a buzzer in your pocket and have a mosey round the garden centre until they buzz to let you know there's a table for you.
T H R O W B A C K C O F F E E H O U S E // Located in the centre of Wakefield, Throwback Coffee House is a vegan café serving both sweet and savoury options. I've tried both and not been disappointed so far! It's definitely one of those vegan cafes where everything is so good that non-vegans won't feel like they're missing out; I even had vegan cheese on my latest visit (which I usually despise) and it was surprisingly good! They offer pretty much every kind of alternative milk for coffees too.
T H E B A R N K I T C H E N A T B L A C K E R H A L L F A R M // Located just off the M1 (so if you're not local but are travelling somewhere then take note!) Blacker Hall Farm shop has a lovely café, again serving both sweet and savoury brunch options. I found it really difficult to decide what to have because there was so much good looking food (resulting in me getting the same as the other people I was with because hashtag food envy). There's also a drive through offering, but I don't know what the menu is like for that. It does get busy so I would maybe recommend booking depending on how many people are eating. I could have spent a hefty amount of money in the farm shop if let loose too!
Don't think I've ever been out for brunch, and this is making me very jealous of that! x

DeleteWOW that pancake stack looks amazing. I'm not much of a breakfast or brunch person, to be honest, but I would have a hard time saying no to that!

DeleteThese all look incredible! We used to live between Wakefield & Leeds although we never really ventured into Wakey that much. Kicking myself at these though! I'm such a brunch lover too. X
ReplyDeleteIt's definitely surpassed my expectations for food there! x
DeleteOhh I see you have a sweet tooth! I always go for savoury dishes for brunch (sorry, breakfast!)
