There are so many amazing reasons to shop small; from knowing you'll have made someone's day by buying from them, to the fact that it's a far more sustainable way to shop plus the items are often better quality and more meaningful. I think a lot of people are turning to small businesses for their Christmas shopping these days, which is great and as I'm always on the hunt for small business recommendations myself, here are mine!

I wrote a similar post of small businesses to shop from last Christmas and seeing as I'll be shopping small for Christmas again this year I thought I'd update the list! I've split them into categories so you don't have to read them all if you're looking for something specific, but all the following are businesses that I've either shopped from myself or had bought for me in the past. The business names are clickable links to take you straight to their shops for ease!

Baby Arlo Studio for handmade children's clothes in gorgeous fun prints.

19 Point 4 for colourful clothing, accessories and the most stylish homeware.

Smiling and Waving sells clothing and accessories for the cool kids in your life (both adults and children), plus all the profits go to a fabulous cause.

Back By Sundown if you're feeling extra generous and fancy treating your friend/girlfriend/mum to a beautiful handmade dress made from vintage or deadstock fabric.

Nova Co. because I couldn't do a small business recommendations post without a cheeky plug could I? Sustainably made tees, sweatshirts and accessories from yours truly.

Saint Kojo sells high quality but reasonably price pieces that are gorgeous and timeless yet unique.

Joshua James for all your well-known brands plus their own collection which is stunning!

Lisa Angel for personalised dainty pieces because we all love a bit of personalisation don't we?

Wax This Way for some truly gorgeous smelling candles, wax melts and reed diffusers with some lovely unique scents.

The Tru Soap Co. sell a variety of amazing natural soap, shampoo bars and gift sets, which could make the perfect gift!

Bliss and Wick sell the best smelling diffuser I've ever owned as well as candles, wax melts and bath salts.

Light & Scent for colourful bath and shower products, perfect for adults and children.

Brown & Blond for the best brownies around - send a brownie box to a faraway friend!

Creme London if you're more of a cookie kinda person! These ones can be warmed in the oven to be extra delicious.

Plant & Paint - one for you Hull folk only, either treat your plant loving friend to something green or get them a giftcard so they can choose their own!

Not Today - a personal favourite of mine for buying personalised prints, cards or tees, Not Today turn your photo into an illustration to print.

Natalie Leanne Art sells gorgeous Photoshop prints and cards.

Form Shop & Studio for all your stationery, art and coffee table book needs!

Let me know if you have any more small business recommendations!
