My Current Skincare Saviour

Posted on: Tuesday, 13 September 2016

I haven't spoken about skincare for a very long time on this blog, but this mask is really worth the mention. I don't think I know a lot about skincare - I'm still working out what type of skin I have, let alone working out the products that will benefit it the most. One thing I do know is that I'm blemish prone (ugh) and for years attempted to combat that by vigorously scrubbing all sorts of harsh products on my face and was scared of moisturiser because I naively thought surely the last thing my skin needed was more moisture (what a fool). Turns I was wrong and since I've just started taking better care of my skin in general, it seems to be getting better (probably completely jinxed it now).
One product I've been using for the past few months is The Body Shop's Aloe Protective Restoring Mask (yeah I know, catchy right?). It's actually a leave on mask, you simply smooth it over your skin, leave it for ten minutes and then rub it in like a moisturiser. You really don't need that much, as I discovered on my first use, because your skin won't absorb any more than it needs. Because of that it lasts absolutely ages, I've been using it weekly for a good few months and I've only used about a quarter.

The mask is so gentle and doesn't have much of a scent, although the scent that it does have I find really calming. It's very moisturising and the day after I've used this my skin looks so much healthier and feels so incredibly smooth. I've been using this about once a week for a really deep moisturise and once winter kicks in I'm sure I'll be using it even more. It's the kind of product that I really enjoy using because it feels quite luxurious even though it's from The Body Shop so isn't even that expensive (hurray!).

What's your current skincare saviour?
