Wardrobe Staples | Denim Jacket

Spring is springing so the denim jacket is well and truly out. It's just become warm enough in the past week or so to forgo a hefty winter coat and turn to something a little lighter. A denim jacket sees me through from the beginning of spring right until the end of autumn because it's just the easiest type of jacket to throw on and tends to go with pretty much everything. Also, I have to confess I have three different denim jackets so one of them will always go with my outfit, but I digress as I just want to talk about my favourite. It's this one by Noisy May, which is still available on Asos over two years after I bought it. I guess that either proves that I'm not alone in my love for it and it's selling like hotcakes so they keep making more or I'm the only one who has actually bought one and they're still waiting for the others to sell. I'm pretty sure it'll be the first option because as well as being such a nice, classic denim jacket, it's also super affordable.

A denim jacket really is a timeless piece. I remember my mum having one when I was little and they're still standing the fashion test of time now. I can't imagine them ever going out of style and if they do, I'll still be proudly championing mine, plus what else would you wear when it's too warm for a coat? This is my go to jacket at this time of year because, as I said, it goes with everything. My favourite combination is denim and stripes because what goes together better than that? The Romeo and Juliet of the clothing world. LOL shut up Amy.

I also love that a denim jacket can dress an outfit down. You can make a massive effort with the rest of your outfit, but throw on a denim jacket and it somehow gives you an aura of naturally looking that good because hey, you're too cool to care, you're wearing a denim jacket. At least it has that effect on other people. It probably just makes me look like I couldn't make my mind up on how to dress that day so just mixed in a bit of everything (which is how I imagine I look on most days actually...)
