Five Things I Did In June

Why I thought a picture of my desk (i.e. where I blog from) was an appropriate picture to use for a round up of a month where I have barely blogged, I don't know, but it's at least hopefully an indicator of my best intentions to really get my blog on in July. With the wedding and honeymoon and then the downer of getting back to reality I've felt a bit 'meh' and directionless when it comes to this blog. However, I have had a pretty cracking June so here's what I did:

I GOT MARRIED. As the most exciting thing I did this month (and, I imagine, this year) this had to be first. I wrote a big long post all about it here if you want more details, but yes, we got married at the beginning of the month and it was *pass the vom bucket* magical.

And then we went on honeymoon... Sorry to basically tell you things you all already know, but I also couldn't not include this could I? We went on a mini tour of Italy for our honeymoon and it was just dreamy. We visited Pisa, Florence and Venice and to be honest I could have carried on and visited the whole country. I've written up a Pisa travel diary here and Florence and Venice ones are on their way!

I became an auntie-in-law. Growing up I always thought I'd never be an auntie, but I hadn't really taken into consideration the fact I might get married and the whole auntie by marriage kinda thing. So when I realised that I would technically be auntie to my brother-in-law's baby I was thrilled. Oscar was born this month, I met him at the weekend and he is just perfect.

I sorted the garden out. I feel like this is a crash down to reality after the last three points, but I'm excited to have a vaguely presentable garden anyway. When we got back from honeymoon we cleared it of DIY rubbish, gave it a good weed and properly sorted some plants and a seating area. It's still not going to be on Instagram anytime soon, but I actually like sitting out in it now.

I decided to start a newsletter...sort of. I mean, it's not a newsletter at all, but bear with me while I try to badly explain this new venture. I basically decided that I wanted somewhere to share little style snippets/lists/generally snappier posts, but couldn't think where to share them because I felt that they didn't fit on my blog and I didn't want to start a newsletter. So I've decided to create a new page on my blog, which will be a kind of monthly edit full of lots of little bits and will be updated each month. Please read it (first one will be up at the beginning of July) and let me know what you think!

What did you get up to in June?
